South Dakota Disaster Recovery Webinar
Wednesday, July 29, 2020
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is sponsoring a webinar to discuss the role banks can play to revitalize or stabilize designated disaster areas.
In 2019, multiple South Dakota counties were impacted by severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding. A coordinated effort is underway to aggregate resources, streamline communication, rebuild infrastructure, restore services, and assist affected South Dakota residents with needed resources. Long-term recovery could take years for the hardest hit areas and most vulnerable populations. Government resources alone are insufficient for a community to recover; every community stakeholder can play an important role in this revitalization.
This webinar is designed for bank CRA officers, compliance officers and management to provide guidance on eligible activities and community development opportunities that may receive positive CRA consideration. Additionally, several state and federal agencies will discuss South Dakota’s response and recovery plans.
