Hands-on Small Engine Servicing & Repair:  PART 1

July 14 & 15, 2008 in Mission, South Dakota

TSA has been asked by staff members of the Todd County School District to schedule this training session in Mission, SD for school district staff members and employees of other agencies close to Mission.  Routine equipment used in facility maintenance such as lawnmowers,  chain saws,  pressure washers, weed-eaters, generators,  trenchers,  tillers,  portable pumps,  concrete saws,  snow blowers... ALL need regular attention so that they operate properly and last a long time.

Servicing equipment within your own agencies saves time and money, as opposed to taking equipment to an outside vendor. The inconvenience of having equipment unavailable while it’s in the shop waiting to be worked on, coupled with the high cost of service and repair, plus travel time to and from the vendor, makes doing the work yourself practical and cost effective.  In addition, some agencies discard a perfectly good piece of equipment and replace it because it couldn’t be diagnosed and serviced properly in-house.

This  two-day Hands-on workshop has been specifically tailored for

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS  and  EQUIPMENT SERVICE STAFF

The emphasis during this workshop will be on understanding the operating principles of the equipment, safety, routine preventive maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting, and potential runability problems.  We can also cover small electric equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, floor polishers, and upholstery machines, if it’s your preference.

The training session will cover any equipment with a 2-stroke or 4-stroke gas engine and equipment with small electric motors.  You determine what equipment you want to have covered and bring the equipment you own to the training session.

 WORKSHOP LEADER:

Vaughn Croft has taught small engine servicing and repair, plus automotive servicing for over 23 years.  He is certified in technical areas with extensive experience in gas, diesel & electric motor-powered equipment, and has expertise with power system applications in a variety of equipment.

Hands-on Small Engine Servicing & Repair:  PART 2

July 16 & 17, 2008 in Mission, South Dakota

This workshop deals with the major servicing and rebuilding of small 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.  Routine equipment used in facility maintenance such as lawnmowers,  chain saws,  pressure washers,  weed-eaters, generators,  trenchers,  tillers,  portable pumps,  concrete saws,  snow blowers... ALL need minor or major servicing at various times in their life cycles.

Servicing or rebuilding engines within the department saves time and money, as opposed to taking equipment to an outside vendor.

This two-day advanced Hands-on training workshop has been specifically tailored for SERVICE  TECHNICIANS  and  MECHANICS

The emphasis during this workshop will be on operating principles, maintenance programs, runability, troubleshooting, Hands-on internal diagnosis & repair, technical steps in parts analysis, installation procedures, and preliminary testing prior to performance testing.

The training session will cover any equipment with a 2-stroke or 4-stroke gas engine. You determine what equipment you want to have covered and bring the equipment you own to the training session.

 Workshop Leader:

Vaughn Croft has taught small engine servicing & repair, plus automotive servicing for over 23 years.  He is certified in technical areas with extensive experience in gas, diesel & electric motor-powered equipment, and has expertise with power system applications in a variety of equipment.
