Construction Management Officer Position Open

DESCRIPTION: Primarily responsible for reviewing architectural plans and specifications; conducting on-site inspections of SDHDA financed multifamily developments during construction/rehabilitation for compliance with local, state, and national building codes and housing regulations; making recommendations regarding the physical aspects of construction, maintenance, and improvement of housing developments to ensure cost effectiveness of materials, supplies, and equipment; preparing physical condition reports; and completing on-line reporting requirements under the federal Environmental Review and Davis-Bacon and the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful applicant must have minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in construction or maintenance trades; knowledge of and ability to interpret local, state, and federal building, plumbing, and electrical codes and regulations, including the Fair Housing Act, Section 504, and Americans with Disabilities Act; and experience with architectural and/or engineering practices.  Candidate must demonstrate strong computer, written, verbal, and organizational skills; be able to problem solve; and work with numerous contractors, architects and developers.  In state travel will be required.  

LOCATION:  Pierre

STARTING SALARY:  $21.31 to $24.04 per hour
