Construction Management Officer Position Open

DESCRIPTION: Responsible for reviewing architectural plans and specifications; conducting on-site inspections of SDHDA financed multifamily developments during construction/rehabilitation for compliance with local, state, and national building codes and housing regulations; making recommendations regarding the physical aspects of construction, maintenance, and improvement of housing developments to ensure cost effectiveness of materials, supplies, and equipment; preparing physical condition reports; and, completing on-line reporting requirements under the federal Environmental Review and Davis-Bacon.

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful applicant must have minimum 3 – 5 years experience in construction or have a college degree in construction management, architecture or related field. Knowledge of, and ability to, interpret local, state, and federal building, plumbing, and electrical codes and regulations, including the Fair Housing Act, Section 504, and Americans with Disabilities Act; and, experience with architectural and/or engineering practices is required.  Candidate must demonstrate strong computer, written, verbal, and organizational skills and be able to problem solve. This position works with contractors, architects and developers.  In state travel will be required.  


STARTING SALARY: $21.31 to $24.04 per hour. SDHDA offers paid employee health insurance plus ten paid holidays, generous vacation leave accrual, and medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
