The Consolidated Plan Update is the annual update to the State’s five-year housing and community development strategy that was developed in 2003 and includes a description of how the HOME, CDBG, ESG, and HOPWA funds will be allocated in South Dakota. The allocation plans are required by the federal government and are developed and used by SDHDA as the basis for administering the program funds and selecting proposals for the respective programs.
This is an opportunity for the public to provide comments, suggestions and ideas to be considered in drafting the 2007 Plan. The public will have another opportunity to provide written and verbal comments when the draft plan is available for comment in October.
Persons interested in making suggestions for the drafting of the new plan may do so by appearing at one of the DDN sites listed above or by sending written comments to SDHDA, PO Box 1237, Pierre, SD 57501, by 5 p.m. CDT, September 6, 2006. Commenters may choose to send written comments on the CDBG portion to the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) at 711 E. Wells, Pierre, SD 57501.
