EMAP Issues Its 100th Loan

The Employer Mortgage Assistance Program has crossed many bridges since it began in 1998. Recently, the 100th EMAP Loan was issued, thanks to the employers and lenders that support the program.

"We've come a long way in the past four years and I am excited to see that 100 loans have been issued," said Brent Adney, Director of Homeownership Programs.

The Employer Mortgage Assistance Program was designed to provide employers with a benefit, recruitment, and/or retention tool for their employees while also providing the employee with a source of funds for down payment and closing costs.

EMAP was a recipient of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's "Best Practice" Award in 2000. The Program is now available statewide and can be utilized by prior homeowners.

To date, EMAP has a total of 16 participating employers representing over 10,000 employees.

"We will continue to actively market EMAP as a win-win program for both the employers and their valued employees," said Adney. "I look forward to the time I can announce reaching the 200 loan mark."
